Lacy Atwater
Lacy Atwater is a second-year student massage therapist who will graduate in January 2027. A former welder, she brings a practical, hands-on nature and strong work ethic to her massage training.
Lacy is warm, funny, and always ready to share a laugh. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time in her garden—although she’s considerably less fond of the local moose that keeps helping itself to her beet tops.

Dennis Dunn
Dennis Dunn is a Saskatchewan farm boy at heart with a grounded nature and genuine love of helping others. He is currently completing his massage therapy training and plans to continue into manual osteopathy.
Friendly, personable, and full of interesting tidbits, Dennis enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, bushcraft, and nearly anything outdoors. He’s the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back—likely a flannel, judging by the beard.

I’ve been curious about the human body for as long as I can remember. In third grade, while the teacher talked, I’d turn my hands over and watch the ligaments move beneath my skin — fascinated by the architecture of something I couldn’t fully see but somehow knew was important. Maybe that curiosity is why I did third grade twice. I wasn’t struggling. I was elsewhere — already studying the thing that would become my life’s work. By my early teens, that instinct had a purpose. At the end of long days, my mother would ask me to massage her back, and I’d feel the tension dissolve under my hands. I didn’t have training yet. I just listened to her body and responded. In 1986, a friend and I travelled to Australia to witness Halley’s Comet — a once-in-a-lifetime event we couldn’t pass up. The comet was unforgettable. But what changed me happened in the water. He was body surfing when the accident happened, and I watched someone I cared about get hurt in an instant. I felt the weight of that moment — and with it, a deep desire to be someone who could help. That feeling lit something in me. I came home and enrolled in my first massage course through Grant MacEwan Community College. To deepen that foundation, I completed the massage therapy program at the Alberta Institute of Massage, graduating in 1992. In 2012, I upgraded to the full 2200-hour standard — a requirement to maintain my license, and one I welcomed, because my drive to understand how the body works has never stopped growing. Over the years since, I’ve worked across the wellness spectrum — massage clinics, physiotherapy practices, chiropractic offices — learning how different disciplines approach the same goal: supporting people in healing their bodies. Health first. Feeling better comes along the way. Then the work got personal. I began navigating my own health challenges — hypothyroidism, weight gain, disrupted sleep, blood sugar issues that didn’t respond to the standard playbook. The western model had prescriptions, but it didn’t pursue the root cause of why those issues were there in the first place. So I did what I’ve always done. I got curious. I researched. I experimented. I found what worked — not from a textbook, but from the intersection of professional knowledge and lived experience. What I discovered along the way is too valuable to keep to myself. If you’re navigating your own version of suboptimal health — if you’ve been told “your labs look normal” but you know something isn’t right — you’re in the right place. This workbook is the map I wish I’d had from the beginning. Your journey starts here.

Lynn Smith RMT
Lynn Smith is the founder of U(R) Wellness Clinic and a Registered Massage Therapist with training in Spinal Flow, RAPID NeuroFascial Reset, laser therapy, reflexology, bioenergetics, and other integrative approaches. Endlessly curious, she loves exploring what the body and nervous system may need—and rarely stays on one branch of the idea tree for long.
The clinic is always evolving because Lynn is, too. Her energy comes in waves, her decisions occasionally take the scenic route, and her little piles aren’t clutter—they’re brilliant ideas waiting for their turn. Somehow, she always circles back…eventually.
